The Convenience Store/ St Martin's Lane Hotel film installation

Andrew Ibi's West London boutique The Convenience Store has temporarily turned into a pop up shop in the front Room of the St. Martins Lane hotel.

As Erika Trotzig is one of the designers he stocks she was asked to show the film we made together in the window.

We set it up on Saturday. The film will be showing all day and night over the next week in the window of the space.

BIRDS EYE VIEW FILM FESTIVAL 2009 - FASHION FILM STRAND

On Thursday 12th March the second installment of the fashion strand took place at the ICA. I am very happy to say the event went really well and without any major glitches. We screened twelve of the most current fashion films made by female directors.

We were lucky enough to have a large number of directors and the designers in the audience. The panel discussion went well with five of us on stage. The five included Laura Bradley from SHOWstudio, Ruth Hogben (Gareth Pugh film), Sarah Chatfield (YSL film), Monica Elkelv (Hannah Marhsall film) and myself.

It was very interesting for me being able to interview these directors and find out about how the films were conceived and developed. We also discussed the genre of fashion film and the rapid speed in which it is developing.

BILLOW frames from rough edit

Above are some stills from the rough edit of BILLOW, a film I shot for fashion designer Erika Trotzig last week. We have been working against the clock to try and get it finished and premiered a the ICA this week. It was a collaboration from the start. Her collection inspired my ideas for how the film would look and my visuals for the film inspired the development of her collection. There will be a press screening at the end of March.
